Google's email service has been affected with a bug and almost 150,000 Gmail account holders have reportedly lost their e-mail, attachments and Google Chat logs lost.Google said it is investigating a glitch in the service of Gmail, which has caused the huge data lose for many users.
It said that their engineers are trying to solve the glitch and as soon as possible the accounts will be restored soon.
In an update from the search giant, a bug was found responsible for the goof up that led to complete resetting of the user accounts. There was a welcome message heralding the users when they logged in to their accounts as if they had just made themselves a new account.
According to Google, the glitch has affected about 0.08 percent of the Gmail user base. It added that the engineers are working for users to get their access and mails back. Google also send out a word to users saying the affected users cannot sign in to their accounts for the period which the engineers need to repair them.
